About Us

HOKTE:

“Woman” in the Muscogee language

Hokte Productions is an independent video production company formed in 2004 by filmmaker Annette Arkeketa.

The mission of Hokte Productions is to create and produce documentary videos and photographs showcasing native people who represent their families and tribal communities.

They include leaders, activists, artists, faith keepers, singers, dancers, language teachers, hunters, chefs, cooks, community workers, athletes, parents, grandparents, and children who rise each day to the challenges of preserving their indigenous way of life and identity.

These stories are unique and familiar; simple and complex; authentic and powerful.
